A System Partly Revealed #2 features: interviews with Crass, and Mila 18; Faction, Part 1, and Assassins of Hope in profile; A Justification of Anarchism being a brief hat tip to Bakunin and Proudhon, and The Spectacle, a nod and a half to Guy Debord. There's an extensive review of Rudimentary Peni', Farce EP and elsewhere a shorter look at the Outer Himalayan EP. Live reviews of Rubella Ballet/ Conflict/Annie Anxiety (Moonlight Club), Rubella Ballet/Omega Tribe/Youth in Asia (The Ship), and Crass/Dirt/Annie Anxiety (Crayford Town Hall). There are some nice pieces of poetry and lots more besides in a beautiful rambling mess.

'…there's a thousand things I want to say to you'…but I think I'll just stick to listing the substantive elements of this consistently excellent fanzine. Frank and Pete present an interview with The Lurkers and features on The Boomtown Rats, and Generation X. Ultravox' (of course), Ha! Ha! Ha! gets a 4 page treatment with Scraps of Sham 69, Radio Stars, Richard Hell & The Voidoids, The Tom Robinson Band, Buzzcocks, Headbanger, Outrage, Rank Xerox ('…thanks for your quote and goodbye'), Polydor, The Jam, Barbara Fisher, and Island Records. Other contributions from Peter Baldwin (18, Putney), Len Parker (of Hounslow), Terry Carson(22, ex borstal), and not forgetting the ITC Charts.

This product of Stevenage Print Workshop sees Les & Tim interviewing The Fall, and Spizz; profiling The Syndicate, Scritti Politti, UK Decay, and Pneumania; giving us the lowdown on Deaf Aids/Drags, Joy Division, The Fall, Gang of Four/The Mekons and Delta 5 live performances; reviewing Crass', Stations of the Crass, Earcom 1 EP and The Scars; offering a bit of a fanzine round-up; publishing some poetry and sharing their Obligatory Chart of '79. It's an excellent fanzine indeed.

Rough Justice #2, 1981

Here's a a slim but worthwhile fanzine put together in Coventry by Pete Samson with contributions from Pete Every. Quite a bit of interest here with interviews: Monachy, Partizans, and Attrition; live reviews of Attrition/Idol-Eyes/Delayed Reaction, The Urge/Partizans, The Butts, and Human Cabbages/Famous 5/Relevant POS/ Delayed Reaction; a short profile of The Partizans; 7"s reviews of Theatre of Hate, Anti Pasti, SLF, Sly Dunbar, UK Decay, Ruts DC, Department s, New Order, and Eyeless in Gaza; From Brussells with Love comp (Brian Eno, Jean Moreau, John Foxx, Bill Nelson, The Durrutti Column, Martin Hannett, and A Certain Ratio); a bundle of cassette reviews - Undead Hatred, Dron Area, 21 Guns, The Wild Boys; a note on The Clash at Agora Balllroom bootleg; a few film reviews, a breif fanzine round-up and a write up of The Urge and The Hawks at Pebble Mill.

Long time ee advisor, Nicholas Bullen has offered these nuggets about this fanzine:

This is great - It's written by a guy who was at my school, and whose younger brother was in the band Delayed Reaction who are mentioned in the fanzine (and sounded completely like Six Minute War, by whom they were influenced a great deal)...I went to quite a few of the gigs reviewed in here...The "More 'Zines" section features reviews of two fanzines I made in 1980 and 1981 (when I was 12 years old): Antisocial and Out of Vogue (named after the song by the American band The Middle Class)...The "Who Cares?" section also features a review of a tape by Undead Hatred, which was the band which I played in before we changed our name to Napalm Death...

Rough Justice #2

Aftermath #3, 1980

Here's another excellent issue of Bobby C. and Tony M's Aftermath to get the New Year rolling for ee. Featuring: interviews with Industrial Muzik, Wasted Youth (there's quite a keen focus on WY with various references throughout + publicity shots of the band); live reviews of The Nips, The Mysterons/The Insex/Disco Zombies, and Athletico Spizz 80/The Scars. It's sad to see the generally dismissive appraisal of the T.V prog, Something Else - I thought the show was really quite good. There's an extended review of The Fall's, Dragnet, 2 pages dedicated to a by and large favourable review of The Clash's, London Calling from Bobby (marred somewhat by a decidedly bitchy counter-editorial). Also, Throbbing Gristle's, 20 Jazz Funk Greats gets the extended review treatment whilst elsewhere there are shorter reviews of Delta 5, 9 Below Zero, Mo-Dettes, The Piranhas, Nurse With Wound and Furious Baton Charge, The Opposition (The New Underground) is a brief peak at independent labels. Not forgetting the neat little fanzine round-up.
